What I love most
I love making happy clients and seeing their faces light up when they see their hard earned cash and ideas transformed into cake. On the occasion where I am not present to see their reaction, their kind words more than make up for it. So many of my customers have expressed such heartfelt gratitude for my talent and hard work, that it has almost brought me to tears. I love reading their experiences and seeing the images they send through of their happy occasion. It’s just amazing and humbling to know that I was chosen to be a part of such a special time in their lives.
What I love least
The worst part of my job is delivering the cake. If I could click my heels and turn up at the venue, that would be perfect, but seriously, delivery is the worst part of my job as there are so many things that could go wrong. Driving in Central London can be a nightmare! If you’re not negotiating pot holes, you’re having to avoid random, crazy drivers. Either one can literally ruin a cake, so I make sure I take extra precautions during delivery like leaving early, using non-slip mats, protective packaging and transporting cake tiers separately to assemble onsite.
For the most part, I really enjoy what I do. I am so grateful for it, as there are not many who can say that they are doing a job that they love. Whilst there are aspects of my work that I love the least, it’s always worth the effort.
