There have been so many cake artists, bakers and sugar crafters that have inspired me over the years and motivated me to continue on my cake journey, always striving to be better and do better. I have managed to whittle it down to 5 of my inspirational cake artists and each one of them has their place for different reasons.

1. Think about your budget
Fondant iced cakes, elaborate designs and sugar flowers all look beautiful on a cake, but take note that any or all of these elements will no doubt increase the cost of your cake. Dummy cake tiers whilst a really good idea to add height and grandeur to your cake design, will not reduce costs by much. The reason for this is that the dummy tiers still have to be decorated in harmony with your cake design and will take as much time as it would to decorate a real cake. So it is more to do with the time taken to decorate rather than the cost of the cake itself. 2. Choose the flavours YOU like It is so important to make sure that you are happy with the flavours of your cake because you want it to be enjoyable and memorable for all the right reasons and not because one person loves fruit cake! Choose the cake flavours that you like and not what everyone else wants. We offer Cake Tasting Boxes with 3 of our most popular flavours (with the option of additional flavours), so that if you loved every single flavour you tried, you could go ahead and have a flavour for each tier! 3. Consider your cake design AFTER you’ve made wedding style decisionsOnce you have decided on the main wedding style decisions such as the venue, wedding dress, colour scheme and flowers, then it is a good time to think about your cake design. This is because you can draw on each of these details to help decide on what sort of cake you’d like and feel would compliment your style. In the end, it is your wedding and every decision you make should be one that will make you both happy. Whilst there is nothing wrong in wanting your guests to be happy too, it should not detract from what you want or be at the cost of your own happiness. When you look back on this special moment, you want it to be filled with pleasant memories you'll remember forever! Bianca x What I love most
I love making happy clients and seeing their faces light up when they see their hard earned cash and ideas transformed into cake. On the occasion where I am not present to see their reaction, their kind words more than make up for it. So many of my customers have expressed such heartfelt gratitude for my talent and hard work, that it has almost brought me to tears. I love reading their experiences and seeing the images they send through of their happy occasion. It’s just amazing and humbling to know that I was chosen to be a part of such a special time in their lives. What I love least The worst part of my job is delivering the cake. If I could click my heels and turn up at the venue, that would be perfect, but seriously, delivery is the worst part of my job as there are so many things that could go wrong. Driving in Central London can be a nightmare! If you’re not negotiating pot holes, you’re having to avoid random, crazy drivers. Either one can literally ruin a cake, so I make sure I take extra precautions during delivery like leaving early, using non-slip mats, protective packaging and transporting cake tiers separately to assemble onsite. For the most part, I really enjoy what I do. I am so grateful for it, as there are not many who can say that they are doing a job that they love. Whilst there are aspects of my work that I love the least, it’s always worth the effort. Bianca x My inspiration for cake designs come from anywhere and everywhere. Sometimes they pop up when I least expect it and force me to scramble for the nearest pen and paper to jot it down. I love classic designs and vintage fashion...
The foundation of my business has always been built on the desire to make people happy with cake and whilst this is still true today, I felt the need to analyse and revisit what this really means for me as a cake artist and most importantly the impact it has on my customers.
