Ever wanted to know how your cakes are made? In this video I am giving you a sneaky insight into my kitchen. I have even included a recipe for you to follow to make your very own cake or 12 vanilla flavoured cupcakes
I think it’s always fun to see how things are made, especially when they’re wedding cakes!
Much time, effort and skill goes into creating a cake and that is before any baking is done! The very design of your cake calls for an understanding of what techniques, styles and colours work together, whilst staying true to what your client wants.
I love talking about cakes and sharing my experiences, so here I have a short video on how to cover a cake in sugarpaste icing. If you are thinking of making your own cake, or a cake for someone else you will find this video useful too.
I would recommend using a quality sugarpaste icing as they are generally not as sweet as some less expensive brands and have a subtle flavour that does not overpower your cake. A quality sugarpaste icing usually has better coverage and is more forgiving which means a little icing can go a long way by rolling it out thinner and doesn’t tear or wrinkle.
